For one, when lightning strikes in the middle of the night or during a storm, it actually brightens up the world around it for a split second. But it does manage to stand out in other ways. In this respect, this shader pack is no different from any of the other high quality packs out there. The best thing about Conquest of the Sun, like with other shader packs, is the way the lighting and the shadows objects cast all look more realistic, more believable. You can see the way the sunlight rolls against the side of a mountain, failing to crest the peak and leaving the opposite face of the rock pile bathed in black. Grades of light, including brightness and darkness, are quite nice to look at over extended distances up on the worlds surface here. It does require the shaderpack mod to function normally, but thats about the extent of the similarities between this shader pack and Chocapics. It takes some inspiration directly from Chocapics Shaders, but it is by no means a copy. Conquest of the Sun is exactly that a good shader pack. Though there are a handful of decent shader packs available for Minecraft already, its always worth paying attention when another good one pops out of the woodwork.
